Kids ministry can no longer be “business as usual”. This is a new generation. You know that parenting a kid towards godly living in this culture is an uphill battle. As leaders, we want to encourage, equip, and empower you for the countless hours that you are ministering to them. We also know that you need to be the primary disciple-makers; we are the cheerleaders and the pit crew. As cheerleaders, we smile at you and shake your hands and hug you. We remind you that you are doing a valuable work. We encourage you not to give up doing what is good in your child’s life because in due time you will reap a harvest. As a pit crew, we help you “tune-up.” We spur you on to greater love and faithfulness and we give you tools and resources to disciple your kids well. We want to remind you – ever so kindly – that Scotts Hill Kids ministry is not for drop-off childcare, Scotts Hill Kids ministry is a refreshment station for Scotts Hill families and a way to empower you for discipleship.

Rid yourself of the “drop-off” mentality
  • Do I know my kid’s small group leader and affirm them frequently for their labor of love?

  • Am I interested in helping my kid apply what he or she is learning on Sunday morning?

Regain your role as the primary disciple maker in your home
  • Am I providing a daily example for my children of Christ-like living in my home?

  • Am I intentionally leading my children in studying God’s word, engaging in daily worship, and helping them develop a prayer life?

Respond to spiritual promptings in your kid’s development
  • Am I aware of my kid’s current understanding of spiritual essentials? (i.e. view of God, Sin, Salvation)

  • Am I taking steps that help my kid move towards the next faith milestone?
