Baptist Children's Home
The Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) are an impactful and Christ centered ministry. Their goal is to share the hope of Jesus Christ which will lead to changed lives. BCH was founded in 1885 and has been offering hope and healing to children and families ever since. BCH serves all 100 North Carolina counties with locations in 30 communities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Guatemala. They have more than 13 different ministries that care for lost and hurting people, including cottage homes for children, single mom care, foster and adoption care, and many others. Scotts Hill partners with the Baptist Children’s Home financially, and by serving at the home in Kinston, NC multiple times a year.
Vigilant Hope
Vigilant Hope (VH) is a dedicated ministry whose goal is outreach to areas of our city that are riddled with poverty. Vigilant Hope believes that true poverty is not a lack of material items but a lack of peace and separation from Christ. Their goal is to reach people with the Gospel, which is the most important part of life and ministry. Some of the ways that Vigilant Hope helps the impoverished community in our city is through eating together, praying together, and being in relationship with one another. This includes, access to hygiene, breaking bread together, spiritual growth, and a partnership with Rise Up community farm. Scotts Hill partners with Vigilant Hope financially, and through providing small groups the ability to help, prepare, and serve breakfast for the VH community on the first Saturday of every month!
Life Line
Life Line Pregnancy Center is a life affirming organization. They provide compassionate support by empowering those at risk or impacted by unplanned pregnancy to choose life. Life Line assists pregnant women with counseling, testing, educational classes about infant care, and providing resources, such as diapers and formula. Life Line educates women on what to do next, what resources are available to them, what adoption can look like, what abortions really are, and all about parenting. Scotts Hill partners with Life Line financially, and through the encouragement and support of our women’s ministry.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a ministry passionate about faith and athletics. The creation of FCA began by a young basketball coach being transformed by the Gospel and coming up with an idea for coaches and athletes to come to know Christ. They are now making an impact in 114 different countries all over the world. FCA believes that coaches and athletes have great influence on their communities and seek to make disciples within them. They do this by engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same. FCA provides Bibles and creates resources/ trainings for coaches and athletes to become empowered leaders who move the mission of the Gospel forward in the world. Scotts Hill partners with FCA financially, and by encouraging their mission.

Toledo Christian Academy
Toledo Christian Academy (TCA), located outside of Punta Gorda, Belize is a ministry committed to making disciples and lovers of the Word of God through a Christ-centered education. TCA has been a shining light to the surrounding villages of southern Belize for 2 decades now. Their goal is to teach and equip the next generation of Belizean Citizens with the gospel. TCA serves children from preschool age through Standard 6 (8th grade), to come and be taught academics through the Bible. Each class is taught by a teacher whose desire is to educate and bring glory to God at the same time. Scotts Hill partners with TCA financially, and by sending teams to fulfill Matthew 28:18-20 and make disciples of all nations, by both encouragement and the spreading of the Gospel.
Pastor Isaiah
Pastor Isaiah of Suhudoo Baptist Church is a man dedicated to Christ, the Gospel, and the country of Ghana. He is a family man who is married to his wife of 10 years and they have 2 sons and 1 daughter that they love greatly. Pastor Isaiah has a degree in counseling, which he uses to minister to others and lead his church family well. Pastor Isaiah leads the body of Suhudoo Baptist Church faithfully and encourages evangelism in their community. However, he does not just stay within the walls of his home and church, but is constantly visiting communities in Kumasi to spread the Gospel, encourage believers, pray over people, and plant other churches. Scotts Hill partners with Pastor Isaiah financially, and by sending teams to partner in his work to fulfill Matthew 28:18-20 and make disciples of all nations, by both encouragement and the spreading of the Gospel.
Jacob and Jen R.
Jacob and Jen R. are a married couple who live in Honduras as full time missionaries with AWBE. They are foster parents and both speak fluent spanish. They are currently working in three different parts of Honduras focusing in church planting, farming, and education. They have planted over 8 churches in San Jose de Pane, which had none several years ago. In other places in Honduras, including Central Rio Patuca, they train pastors, plant churches, and provide transportation in hard to reach places. They are also in the process of providing medical missionaries to visit these places, which has been a long time dream. They are major contributors to Joy Christian Academy which is a small bilingual school serving grades Pre-K to 8th grade. Jacob and Jen believe that kids should find joy in learning, that school should be a safe place for them, and that school should be a place for kids to grow in their Faith. Jen has been teaching there for over 6 years and helped develop JOY where she is still a teacher and trainer. In 2021, Jacob also started a 2-acre sustainable farm at the home in addition to teaching a discipleship class to teens every Thursday. As of 2024, the project will be handed over to two local men who have been trained to maintain the farm for years to come while Jacob will continue discipleship with the teens while taking a back seat on the farm. Scotts Hill partners with Jacob and Jen financially and through prayer.
Jay and Kathy Shafto
Jay and Kathy Shafto are dedicated IMB missionaries and followers of Christ. They both have been members of Scotts Hill since 1999. They are missionaries that have been all over the world and have now settled in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) sharing the love of Jesus Christ. They partner with local people around the DRC and go to remote villages and communities to share the gospel and plant churches. One of the projects they are currently working on is rebuilding an airstrip in a remote village for missionaries to come and evangelize. Jay and Kathy Shafto are committed to both planting churches, and training up pastors in the way of the Lord. They teach and equip pastors to teach God’s Word truthfully. Kathy Shafto is in the process of creating a multi-year curriculum for a children’s discipleship program called Great Commission Kids, which will teach children the Bible and what being a true disciple of Jesus means. Jay and Kathy both teach pastors, missionaries, and people how to share the Gospel and story the scriptures effectively. Scotts Hill partners with Jay and Kathy Shafto financially and through prayer.
Mango Tree Ministries
Mango Tree Ministries is a missions organization made up of local indigenous missionaries, located in Western Africa. Mango Tree Ministries has been active since 2007 and have been sharing the love of Jesus Christ ever since. They work in 5 different countries in western Africa sharing the gospel with people, and providing them with audio Bibles in their own language! These men are fluent in many of the different languages all across western Africa, which allows them to minister to all sorts of language and people groups. These men are fully committed to the Lord and do everything in their ability to fulfill the great commission, even going to areas that are hard to reach or dangerous. Mango Tree Ministries ultimate goal is to see the Gospel spread all throughout Western Africa. Scotts Hill partners with Mango Tree Ministry financially, and by sending teams to partner in His work to fulfill Matthew 28:18-20 and make disciples of all nations, by both encouragement and the spreading of the Gospel.
